FusionRemote: Every Server, One Window
FusionRemote replaces the pile of mstsc windows, PuTTY sessions and browser bookmarks with one structured connection tree and embedded session tabs. Your connections live as plain files in real folders, your credentials stay encrypted per Windows user, and a live online/offline indicator tells you which machines are up before you even click.
🔧 Features
✅ Four protocols, one app: RDP, SSH, VNC and web interfaces open as tabs inside FusionRemote, side by side.
✅ Connection tree: Folders and connections as a clear tree with drag and drop, rename, duplicate and instant search by name or host.
✅ Live status: Every connection shows a green or red dot. FusionRemote pings the host and falls back to a TCP check on the service port.
✅ Credential manager: Named credentials in your own folder structure, reusable across any number of connections.
✅ Connect as: Open any connection with any stored credential, your own sign-in account or a one-off login, straight from the right-click menu.
✅ Wake on LAN: Wake up a sleeping server with one click, using a configurable MAC address, port and broadcast target.
✅ Standalone mode: Open a connection in the native tool (Remote Desktop, OpenSSH, your VNC viewer or your browser) instead of a tab.
✅ Import and export: Move whole structures or single folders between machines, and import or export RCC server lists.
✅ Bilingual and dark: Full English and German interface, with dark mode.
🔄 Ways to Connect
▶️ Connect: Opens the session in a tab with the credential assigned to the connection. If a password is missing, FusionRemote asks once and can remember it encrypted.
👤 Connect as: Picks the credential at connect time: your sign-in account, a remembered login or anything from your credential folders.
⚡ Start: Sends a Wake on LAN magic packet, then keeps checking the host so the status dot turns green as soon as it is up.
🪟 Standalone: Hands the connection to the native program. Passwords are never passed on, the external tool asks for them itself.

📝 Detailed Description & Architecture
🗂️ Connections as Plain Files
Every folder in FusionRemote is a real directory, and every connection is a small JSON file. The connection store can sit on a local disk or a network share (UNC), so a team can work from one shared structure. Files are written atomically, unknown fields are ignored, and older files keep loading after updates. Connection files never contain passwords.
🔒 Credentials That Stay Yours
Passwords are stored in a local credential store protected by Windows DPAPI, bound to your Windows account and machine. Copy the file to another PC or user and the passwords simply stay empty: no crash, no leak. Remembered logins live in a fixed group of their own, separate from your folder structure, so you always know which is which.
👤 Sign In Once, Connect as Yourself
The credentials you sign in to FusionRemote with can be offered as “My account” under Connect as. On servers that authenticate against your domain, that means one sign-in and every server opens as you. The account is held in memory only and is gone the moment you sign out.
🌐 Wake on LAN Done Properly
The magic packet goes out on every active network interface, both as a global and as a subnet broadcast, so VPN adapters, Hyper-V switches and mixed LAN and Wi-Fi setups are all covered. Or point it at a specific subnet broadcast or relay address and a custom port.
Sessions
🖥️ RDP: Embedded Microsoft Remote Desktop client with NLA, clipboard and audio.
💻 SSH: Built-in terminal with host key verification, password or key file authentication.
👁️ VNC: Built-in viewer with VNC password authentication.
🌍 Web: Embedded Edge WebView2 browser for router, iLO, NAS and hypervisor web interfaces.
Safety
🛡️ No passwords in files: Not in connection files, not in exports, not in launch files for external tools.
🧹 Injection-safe launching: Values from connection files are cleaned before they reach command lines or .rdp files.
🔑 Known hosts: SSH host keys are stored and checked on every connect.
Organisation
📁 Credential folders: Create, rename, move and delete folders; drag credentials where they belong.
📌 Remembered group: Logins saved while connecting stay in one fixed group at the top, always visible.
🔍 Search: Filter the whole tree by name or host as you type.
Interface and Settings
🌓 Dark mode and English / German interface.
⚙️ Configurable ping interval, connection path and logging.
🔄 Built-in update check for new versions.
